This course is designed for Individuals who have previously completed an Ultrasonic Level I or Ultrasonic thickness course and want to achieve their ASNT O&G UTT ISQ Certification. Upon completion of this course, students will master the skills needed for detection, characterization, and evaluation of Mid-Wall Flaws (M), Wall Loss (W), or No Applicable Damage Detected (N), while also learning to meticulously document test results. Our practice specimens provide an unparalleled, lifelike experience, thoroughly preparing you for real-world examinations!
The course includes 20 hours of hands-on training, featuring instructor demonstrations on equipment calibration, sample scanning, and more. Students will also receive 20 hours of classroom instruction.
The course covers:
- Detection thresholds
- Gate settings
- Roof angles and V-path correction
- Measuring rates
- Various types of equipment
- Calibration and scanning techniques
- Reporting and recording defects
- Damage mechanisms causing wall loss (erosion, corrosion, etc.)
The specimens used in class are either coated or noncoated & contain actual or artificial discontinuities that replicate those found in the field.
